In French, Vin Gris, Grey Wine, is a simple term for a light yet complex dry pale pink rosé wine.
Tasting Highlights
- Dry, unoaked pale rosé (100% Pinot Noir)
- Delicate aromas of orange blossom, raspberry, and watermelon
- Strawberry on the palate
- High crisp acidity, subtle minerality
- Light body, complex finish
Food Pairing Notes
Perfect by itself as a refreshing apéritif, the wonderful fruit-forward flavors and bright acidity of this elegant dry rosé bring great versatility with acidic and light fatty food, like tomatoes, avocados, and pimento-based dishes, especially with seafood, eggs, charcuterie, pasta, and chicken. Try it with:
- Summer salads with heirloom tomatoes or an upscale Hawaiian Poke or Salade Niçoise
- Guacamole, creamy hummus, and Romesco dishes
- Ceasar's salads or chicken tacos
- An elevated version of a grilled cheese and ham sandwich
- Light pasta salads or sushi
- Veggie pizza
- Grilled and sautéed seafood, especially wild salmon, tuna, and shrimp.
- Classic brunch fares, such as smoked salmon egg Benedict with hollandaise sauce, cheesy frittatas, or omelets
- Best greens and vegetables: avocado, heirloom tomatoes, lettuce, green peas, asparagus, chickpeas
Winemaker’s notes
Head Winemaker Brian Hosmer and his talented cellar team artfully craft our sustainably-grown fruit into an array of wines to charm every palate. Only carefully selected grapes are used for our Proprietor's Reserve label. The Pinot Noir grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed with minimal skin contact. The result is a clear pale pink juice from a black grape, fermented as a white wine in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures, with minimal lees contact, to preserve the fresh and fruity characteristics.
Serving suggestions
Best served chilled at 45–50 °F. It’s not necessary to decant.
