Pairing Suggestions
A genuine food-friendly wine. The full body and the acidity will stand up to savory, buttery foods while refreshing the palate, ready for another bite. The oaky notes provide our Proprietor's Reserve Chardonnay with even more aromatic complexity. Pair our oaky Chardonnay with toasty flavors, such as toasted nuts, pastry crust, grilling, or smoking. Enjoy this elegant wine with:
- Crisp-skinned roast chicken or pork with cream, toasted hazelnuts, and apples
- Pastry crusts: French caramelized onions tart, Lobster Pot Pie
- Creamy pasta, such as Fettuccine Alfredo and smoked bacon carbonara
- Four Cheese white pizza, mushrooms, and cheese pizza
- Butternut squash risotto, truffle, or mushroom and cream risotto
- Seafood bisque and grilled seafood
- Brie, Brillat-Savarin, Parmesan, or smoked cheese
- Smoky and creamy leek soup
- Best pairing veggies: roasted butternut, leek, roasted nuts, carrots, sweet potatoes, grilled and buttered corn
Winemaker's notes
Head Winemaker Brian Hosmer and his talented cellar team artfully craft our sustainably-grown fruit into an array of wines to charm every palate. Only carefully selected grapes for their concentrated flavors are used for our Proprietor's Reserve label. Our P.R. Chardonnay underwent primary and secondary fermentation in our oak barrels, followed by extended aging on fine lees. Regular stirring (bâtonnage) was done to develop a luxurious and creamy mouthfeel.
Serving suggestions
Best served only lightly chilled at 50-55°F to avoid dulling its complexity and pairing powers. Recommended: remove it from the ice bucket or refrigerator 20 minutes before pouring to let it warm. It’s not necessary to decant.
