This wine is a celebration of the efforts of founding Winemaker Mark Johnson. A fruity Pinot Noir with subtle earthy notes. Strawberry jam wrapped in toasty oak notes from the well integrated oak that contributes fine tannins to the palate.
A warm vintage produced ripe jammy fruit. This is the ripest we have ever seen this vineyard come in, as it was the last year the Winemaker Mark Johnson worked his vineyard.
Fermented for 10 days on Mark's favorite Pinot Noir yeast RC212. Daily gentle hand punchdowns and pressed. Full ML before barreling then aged for 10 months in oak.
$5 from every bottle sold will go to the Mark Johnson Memorial Fund at Michigan State University.
